Abie
Legal Assistant, Austin
A Native Houstonian turned Austinite- I am of Nigerian and Native American heritage. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio where I double majored in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Legal Issues and Adjudications and Sociology. During my undergraduate degree, I completed my field work at the District Attorney’s Office of Bexar County in Family Violence. I also completed my field work at ChildSafe (an advocacy center for sexually abused children). On top of that, I also worked for Keller Williams, Methodist Hospital, the Jewish Community Center, and my alma mater, UTSA.
My legal experience is vast and diverse having experience in criminal, family law, municipal, medical, bankruptcy (foreclosure prevention and landlord and tenant issues), employment law, intellectual property, first amendment and 1983 claims, disaster relief/benefits and small claims. All of the legal jobs I have had share a common thread of advocacy. Down to my core, I am an advocate before all else. Probate is a new area of law for me, and I am thrilled and ecstatic to learn and grow.
I have played piano and all percussion instruments since I was 5 and 9 years old respectively. In my spare time, I tend to make music, spend time with my loved ones and our pets, hike, swim, and enjoy all the outdoors has to offer! I am deeply in love my kitty Malcolm X and my puppy Rosa Parks who are my world!
