While taking the time to have a family and pursue personal business interests, I became involved in handling probate matters on several family estates. My broad business experience and educational background were extremely helpful in that process. I enjoyed learning about probate and administration of estates. Deciding to become a Paralegal was a logical choice for me because it allows me to use my experience and education in a new and meaningful way.
I am a President’s Honor Roll graduate of the highly regarded Advanced Paralegal Program at Austin Community College. Additionally, I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University where I majored in Accounting and a Master of Science Degree in Taxation from The University of Texas-Arlington.
After graduation, I joined Price Waterhouse as a staff auditor and became a Certified Public Accountant. Public accounting exposed me to many types of business entities including manufacturing, petroleum, insurance, brokerage, hospitals, and non-profits. Ultimately, I joined Union Pacific Resources Corporation and later Bethlehem Steel Corporation. During my corporate career I held a variety of positions in many areas including Internal Audit, Financial Accounting, Regulatory Matters, Tax Planning, and Strategic Planning. Eventually, I had my own business as an independent accountant where I performed free-lance accounting for a variety of business clients.
